hehe i used to do the same thing, then i set up a folder and a mail filter, so they all go one place.
my notifier only works for the inbox... it plays a sound for any mail, which can still lead to said excitement/disappointment, but if i'm away and come back it's less of an issue :)
Heh. That happens when I respond to a blog comment on my own blog, and then it gets sent to my gmail account, and I get all excited thinking I got a new comment.
The Scientist: that is a great solution. Except that often I send myself an email to remind myself of something, and that only works if it sits in my inbox so that I'll see it.
