I still haven't heard about the TT job. Which probably means I'm out of the running.

I am now sitting here staring blankly at my computer screen, because getting one of these fellowships is the main thing I have been working towards for the past three years, and now I have it, I don't know what to do.
Drink wine, perhaps. Yes. That's what to do.

My first thought of reading the topic was "that's where my parents live" but then I realised that that is only a cultural island, not a real one.
My second thought was that interesting results could be obtained by randomly mixing words in your topic title with the previous one.

Actually there are no parrots there. (Sigh.) All they have is a rather stupid bird that can't walk on land, and isn't afraid of humans. Once a year the islanders go around stuffing them into sacks, and then there is great feasting. Once a year is apparently not frequent enough for the birds to learn what's going on.
