Hooked on a feeling and I'm high on believing

My conference presentation is in an hour, and I've just figured out what I'm really talking about. I've given this talk once before without being quite sure. And this time it is going to be so. much. better.

It feels like my brain is on some really excellent drugs. Or maybe they put something exciting in the conference coffee. Whatever it is, I like it.

Hi Thing,

Glad you're feeling more confident about your presentation, and that it looks like you've finally got the time and wifi access to start blogging again :)

Try not to get eaten by a shark or crocodile while you're up there...

yay! I hope your talk went well :)

Knowing what you're talking about does help, I suppose, although I don't think it's actually a requirement in academia. Or at least in the sort of academia I inhabit.

Excellent--hope it went well! (And can you send me some of whatever's in your coffee?)

How'd it go? Smashingly, I imagine! Do tell!

It did go well, and I had a nice large audience, too, which is always a plus when you are actually feeling confident for a change.

Badaunt -- I know it isn't a requirement: I usually manage without.

Luckybuzz -- will try to smuggle some muffin and coffee samples out for chemical analysis, but I'm not sure it will be successful.

Geekman -- we talked about you calling me "Thing" in public :)

I promise not to get eaten by crocodiles. Maybe ibiseses, though. There seem to be a lot of them around.

aww... I miss ibises. They're pretty friendly, though.

The ones that converged on me when I tried to take their photo today didn't look at all friendly. And my god, they have beaks!
