i don't know, but would love the answer! i come off as looking like an unkempt schoolchild.
Character and personality - I find that people who have stunning skill at fashion usually don't quite have the personality to back it up (because they spend all their worthwhile thinking credits on how they look, not on being interesting.). This isnt' a hard and fast rule, but it often seems true to me. (But I'm a geek who wears secondhand army greatcoats and gothboots, so what would I know about fashion?)

I'm often cold so I like the layering look - until I tried it. I look and feel like a giant marshmallow woman. Kind of like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man
