Christmas 2005

Last Christmas was just the way a New Zealand Christmas should be. We don't need your soggy snow or frosty winter nights.

Christmas is meant to be about beaches...

and rockpools...

and long days full of sunlight...

About being outdoors...

and pretending you are Tarzan...

and introducing your ten-year-old sister to alcohol for the first time.*

Okay, while that does look like a very lovely day, as Christmas? it's just. all. wrong. Snow! There should be snow! And roaring fires and whatnot! ;-)

Does the little sister usually come with a 24 hour time fuse before self destructing? I could use that....

Strangely enough, I'm fairly familiar with both white christmasses and summer christmasses, despite never having had a northern hemisphere christmas. I guess I hang out too much at high altitudes and near glaciated regions.
