I have labeled each subsection of my thesis with the name of a Dungeons and Dragons monster and for each one I slay rewrite, I award myself an appropriate number of XP.
Now if you'll excuse me, I need to finish my Coffee of Dazzling Competence (+5 to intelligence, +10 to speed), and then I'm off to destroy a hook horror ("The diachronic implications of Downing's word order correlations").

Dude, you win.
You should be ashamed of yourself. :)
Sounds like a great idea! Make it fun. ;~)
I wish I'd thought of that!!!!!!
I could be level 200 by now!
clearly, you are way ahead of the other competition ;o)
Woah. You are a bigger dork than me. I didn't think that was possible.
I stand (well, sit) in awe of you. I have been looking for a motivator for 2 weeks! This may be it.
Now where is my 12 sided die?
Styley - you used to have a list in the right sidebar of wordcount, chapters slain, etc. Did you disappear it on pupose? I always used to check to see how you were getting on.
I disappeared it because I never got around to updating it. Also, it was chapters and sections drafted, and it's all drafted now. It just needs revision.
I get those when I increase my level :) But it takes quite a few monsters to get enough XP to level up.
I like the way you think.
Talk to me! (You know you want to!)
