I am always amazed at the extravagance of colour Australian birds display. They are gorgeous.
Me too. I once had an argument with a fellow NZer who claimed that our parrots were prettier because they were subtle and delicate-looking, not like these showy monstrosities, and that Australian birds were just vulgar. I couldn't agree.
Do they have parrots in Melbourne, do you know?
Kind of. You'll find them in parks and the botanic gardens, but they don't seem to be as common in the urban area or even suburban gardens as they are here.
