Sometimes my office mate doesn't come in for days or weeks on end, and always leaves a half-full cup of tea sitting on her desk. I don't rinse it out for her. When she comes back, I tell her I didn't see it, over there, hidden in the corner like that, when actually I've inspected it every day to see how much the mold has grown.
I pretend to myself that I'm training her to wash her teacup every day before she goes home. But really I just like to see the pretty colours growing.
Does anyone else want to share a confession?

You should post to the academicsecret blog :)
Except that it wouldn't be very anonymous... Also, do they accept submissions from random people? It looks to me more like there is a list of regular contributors.
Thanks for the tip, though. It was fun reading the secrets there.
The truth is, I feel guilty when I wash out mold, like I'm killing billions of little animals.
well, you can email an admin and ask to join, if you think of more secrets.
I once stole ice cream from the cafeteria in fourth grade.
I leave other people's dishes around the kitchen too. Except sometimes they really do just never see them. I don't understand -- it's like there's a blind spot right where the pan should be.
I love Wolfa's reason for not wanting to wash mold away. Maybe I'll use that next time my office mate comes back.
Sheepish---I'm appalled! I'm not sure we want commentators with a criminal background around here, thank you. Although, if you didn't get caught, it probably doesn't count as a criminal background, so you can stay. For now. (I shoplifted once when I was five years old. And I knew what I was doing too: the memory is very clear.)
Kermit---I know people like that too. Maybe they suffer from some weird variety of blindness.
Can I just say that you take great photos?
Confession: when I was about five or six years old, at my dad's work Christmas party, my brother and I broke the "Connect Four" game belonging to the host. We hid it under the couch and told nobody.
That game has haunted me ever since.
Thanks, Publius, and Anastasia!
Q of West P: I can't stop laughing at that one. You poor thing!
Thanks lucy for the tip on academicsecret. Relatedly, styleygeek, was your post inspired by PostSecret? If not, you should totally go there because as soon as I saw this post I thought of it! I guess you probably couldn't use this one, since we all know now, but the minute I saw it I thought of PostSecret, so if you think of any more, you should drop them a postcard! It's one of my favorites places to visit because of the weird variety of people's secrets.
Oh, I love postsecret. But I'm too lazy (and cheap) to send them postcards :)
Talk to me! (You know you want to!)
