I think the parrots have heard about NaBloPoMo and are organising themselves to appear in thematic bursts. First we had our little galah frenzy, followed by "All crimson rosellas! All the time!" And now no matter where I go, the eastern rosellas are out in force.
Enjoy it while it lasts. For tomorrow we may cockatoo.

We have a family of cockies that live near my house, and every freaking morning they go screaming off into the bush. And then an hour later they come screaming back. And sometimes, for no good reason WHATSOFREAKINGEVER, they start screaming at one another for AGES. It drives a person batty.
Erica, I really wish I had a way of conveying to non-Australian readers of this blog just how loud cockatoos are. It is unbelievable.
audioblog! You'll need some normal birds or something for reference, though.
Yeah, my problem is that normal birds aren't loud enough to be picked up by my crappy microphone. And without them, there is no reference point.
(I know, I'm a linguist, I should have better recording equipment. But I'm not THAT SORT of linguist.)
Talk to me! (You know you want to!)
