Short of something going wrong for them and screwing up their plans to complete on time, all the grad students who were here when I first arrived will leave before me. Which means that soon there will be no one left who has been my friend right from the start.
And that makes me sad.

I am going through something similar myself. It is no doubt sad. However, if it is any consolation, you can know that I am going through and feeling the sadness with you.
It really is bad, isn't it, that that's the way grad programs work and that it happens to everyone. Systems that are designed to make you lose your friends suck.
I guess it isn't so bad in large programs where you enter with a whole heap of other people, since they'll mostly be there the whole time too. But in our program we have around four new students a year, and they all start at different times, so there was no one else who started at the same time I did.
Yeah, I've hit that point myself (5th year), and my last friend is about to leave. I kept telling myself it'd be the sign that I needed to withdraw a bit from social life and focus in order to graduate, but I'm not sure that's really true.
