Sorry -- bad out-of-focus photo.
Yes, they are birds. King parrots. They usually hide out in the tops of trees so you can't see them easily, but are having a hard time doing that right now!
That's scarry winter sky. It has that ominous blue of unease.
I love that phrase, jesse -- "ominous blue of unease." And you're right, that's exactly what that sort of sky feels like.
