Let's make polite conversation about the weather

Look where I'm off to next week.

Well, actually only to the urban bit, which isn't quite so deeply buried in snow right now and (in places) still has power and telephone.

But I'm still not holding out hope that there are any warm sunny days in my near future.

(Updated to add photos nicked from here.)

How fun! Are you taking Geekman with you?

StyleyGeek said...

No, it's just a semi-spur-of-the-moment trip to help my mother out (moving house). Geekman can't get time off at short notice the way we lazy PhD students can :)

Apologies for the endless reloads of this post, by the way. I just couldn't get the photos to work properly.

OK, I've offically (again) confirmed that I'm an enormous freak, because I find the weather in those pictures totally attractive.

Hope you have a good time!

I find it attractive from a distance. Or even for short periods of immersion in it. But it's been _weeks_ of cold!

The world has had its fun. Now I want summer back.

Oh, and the powercuts and lack of phone lines probably ruin the party a little, Luckybuzz :)

snow does help make the cold more fun, at least (although, perhaps not when you're trying to move things and you lose power and phone service...)

luckybuzz - I am totally with you.

I'm willing to admit that snow is (far) preferable to rain, anyway.

I thought your Mum lived in W'ton?

My parents moved to Chch last year. And although they've split up now (hence my mother's upcoming house-move), they've both decided to stay in Chch.
